Charging Per Hour vs. Per Project

If you’re a corporate designer, you don’t have to worry about things like how to bill your clients, as you’re likely either on salary or have a predetermined hourly rate and regular work schedule.
But for freelancers, figuring out how best to charge clients for work completed can be a nightmare. After all, you want to charge clients a fair price, make a decent living, and get enough work so that you’re not struggling to find the next project.
In the world of web design, there are two basic ways most designers charge: per hour or per project. There are advantages and disadvantages to each method, and there are situations where one method works better than the other.

El Cajon CDC Painting Project-Call for Entries

Downtown El Cajon CDC is looking for artists to paint utility boxes in El Cajon.  If you are selected you will receive $125 for painting a utility box.  Follow the link at the bottom of this message to apply.

UArt: Downtown El Cajon’s Utility Art Box Program, inspired and funded by the El Cajon Redevelopment Agency and implemented by the El Cajon CDC, transforms ordinary utility boxes into distinctive works of public art. Local artists and community members are invited to paint a utility box, becoming part of the Downtown El Cajon landscape for years to come.

Beginning in July 2010, artists and community members are highly encouraged to contribute colorful designs that highlight qualities unique to El Cajon - its past happenings, signature community events, distinctive businesses, historic buildings, natural beauty, culture, and more. Also brand new, participating artists will receive a stipend of $125!
